Cardiovascular Technologist

Position Overview: 

The Cardiovascular Technologist will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions. This position involves performing diagnostic tests, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cardiovascular technology and a commitment to improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Diagnostic Tests: Conduct a variety of cardiovascular tests, including echocardiograms, stress tests, and vascular studies to assess heart and blood vessel conditions.
  • Assist During Procedures: Support cardiologists during invasive and non-invasive cardiovascular procedures such as cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, and pacemaker insertions.
  • Patient Care: Prepare patients for procedures, explaining tests and answering any questions. Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort during tests and procedures.
  • Equipment Management: Operate and maintain cardiovascular equipment, ensuring it is functioning properly and safely. Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as necessary.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze test results and prepare detailed reports for physicians to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately document patient information, test results, and procedures in the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Continual Learning: Stay updated on the latest cardiovascular technology advancements and practices through continuous education and training.

Requirement

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Cardiovascular Technology or a related field.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
  • Proven experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a hospital or healthcare facility.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in patient care.
